COOKING UP A CURE, INC.
OUR MISSION
Haddon Culinary and Salem County Vocational Technical School are proud to partner once again to raise funds in honor of our friend and mentor, Chef Guy Dunagan. This year, we’re aiming to raise $15,000 for ALS United Mid-Atlantic through the sale of our popular family meal kits. Last year, over 200 families across South Jersey joined us in support of this meaningful cause and we’re excited to make an even greater impact in 2025.
We invite your business to be part of this effort through one of our sponsorship opportunities listed below. It’s a chance to give back, support a great cause, and gain exposure to a loyal and engaged audience through our 501c3, Cooking Up A Cure, Inc.
Let’s cook up a cure—together.

MEET CHEF GUY
Graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in 1977, Guy's culinary journey began at Hyatt Hotels in Cherry Hill, NJ. His career took him through various hotels before he played a pivotal role in the grand opening of the Golden Nugget Casino in Atlantic City, where he met his mentor, Eugene Ess. Guided by Eugene, Guy delved into the art of European pastry, chocolate work, and intricate showpiece creation. A journey to Switzerland under the tutelage of Eugene's instructor further expanded Guy's expertise in working with sugar.
Their collaboration continued at the Trump Marina Casino, where Guy's talent earned him the role of Assistant Pastry Chef. Within a year, he was promoted to Executive Pastry Chef at the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino, steering it to an era of unprecedented success as the world's busiest and most profitable casino.
In a pivotal shift, Guy chose to redirect his career to be more present for his family. Returning to school, he pursued a teaching degree, inadvertently discovering his true calling. Becoming a Culinary Arts Teacher marked a turning point, where sharing knowledge and mentoring became his passion. Guy dedicated 21 years to educating at Salem County Vocational School and Atlantic County Institute of Technology, enhancing his students' industry exposure through leadership roles in the Professional Chefs Association of South Jersey. This dedication earned him numerous awards, including Gold Medals at ACF Food shows, Teacher of the Year honors, and the Cutting Edge Award from the National American Culinary Federation.
Despite a retirement from teaching due to ALS, Guy's commitment endures as an Advisory Board member on the Salem County's School Board, exemplifying his enduring impact on culinary education and his community.
